Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do I need an appointment?
An appointment is required for all formal clothing such as brides, bridesmaids, mother of bride/groom, prom etc... I like to have at least up to one hour blocked off to assure you get the focused attention needed to get an accurate fit. We also take this time to address any questions or concerns you may have.
  • Can you alter any type of clothing?
I do custom sewing and alterations on formal, casual apparel and vintage clothing . At this time, I don't do any repairs or heavy duty sewing such as replacing zippers, leatherwork, and canvas. I do have referrals if needed.
  • How much will my alteration cost?
Basic alterations have a set price and you may contact me for a quote. Bridal alterations have a starting price range and require an in person quote. Formal dresses can be complex, and made of unique materials, so I wouldn't be able to give a fair estimate without knowing what I'm working with. I do not give quotes via phone, text or emails on formal wear.
  • Do you offer custom-made clothes?
I offer custom sewing for specifically designed clothing, dresses, and re enactment attire. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have a project in mind.
  • How long will it take to alter my clothes?
Turnaround time on general alterations is usually up to 2 weeks, but it all depends on the complexity of the garment and the schedule. During wedding season, expected turnaround times may be up to 3 weeks. Bridal alterations are completed in a series of fittings and an estimated pick up date will be given at the initial fitting. I am currently a team of one and very meticulous, so I do not offer same-day or rush services.
